Ian Halperin’s Michael Jackson: The Final Years reveals Michael Jackson’s gay relationships with a Hollywood waiter and a Las Vegas construction worker. The book has just been released in Canada and will soon hit the shelves in the US and UK. But there was another book, published 13 years ago, that detailed the strange habits and pedophilic desires of the King of Pop. Michael Jackson Was My Lover was written by investigative reporter Victor M. Gutierrez based in part on a diary kept by Jordan Chandler, the young man who was paid millions of dollars by Jackson after accusations of sexual abuse. The book is described on its back cover as:
Jordie Chandler reveals how he got to know Jackson, his trips to foreign countries with Jackson, what he saw when Jackson got naked in front of him, the sexual games he played with Jackson and his feelings towards Jackson. Also: The criminal investigation of Jackson, the civil lawsuit against Jackson, child actors that were also the star’s sexual partners, Jackson’s animal abuse at his private zoo, plus confidential documents never before published.
The credibility of Gutierrez’s book has never been seriously challenged, but he later lost a slander lawsuit filed by Jackson regarding other claims. In fact, his work was endorsed by journalist Diane Dimond of Hard Copy, the LAPD investigator in charge of the case against Jackson, and Jackson’s former personal asistant Orietta Murdock who blurbed, “Victor Gutierrez is a voice for all of us who know the truth.”
The book was suppressed in the United States, but it’s occasionally available on Ebay or from used book sellers at prices ranging from $150 to $600. Its 200 pages are filled with private details about Jackson and the people around him. Some of the information was later confirmed by police investigations and it can be expected that more will come out now that Jackson has died. For instance, stories are circulating today that the biological father of Jackson’s children by ex-wife Deborah Rowe was a man named Arnold Klein, who was Jackson’s dermatologist (and Rowe’s employer.) Michael Jackson Was My Lover was published more than a year before Deborah Rowe became a public figure as Jackson’s wife, yet she and Klein are prominent figures in the book. The book was also one of the first to note Jackson’s financial troubles, which came to occupy much of his attention toward the end of his life.
Michael Jackson is dead and millions of fans are mourning. His family are clearly devastated by the loss. He will be remembered as a musical prodigy, a genius, and one of the most charismatic entertainers ever. It’s important at this time, when his final legacy is being formed in the public mind, to keep a perspective on the type of man he was in private as well as the type of performer he was on stage.

On April 9, 1998 Michael Jackson won a slander suit against free-lance writer Victor Gutierrez. At the trial Gutierrez was not able to produce one single piece of evidence that he claimed to have. Just an FYI.
Jackson’s slander suit was in regard to Gutierrez’s claim on Hard Copy that he had a videotape of Jackson having sex with boys. Although the lawsuit was unrelated to content of the book Michael Jackson was my Lover the legal process found that Gutierrez’s later claims regarding a tape were false, as he refused to produce the supposed tape.
Gutierrez lost the case because he refuse to name his source (jordie), not because the story of the video was false. All his documents were real and confirmed by the D.A. Remember that even O.J. was found not guilty. Gutierrez even mentioned in his book about Demerol and jackson (page 72 -73).
The fans should be more inform before they write staff, they lose credibility when they write with anger and false claims.
I heard that there is now a small movement gainging strength- to have pedophilia considered an acceptable sexual orientation- and not a mental illness. I would like to know what the gay community thinks of this?
I think you’ll find the gay community thinks the same way about pedophilia as the rest of the population. If it’s defined as an older person taking advantage of a child who is unable to consent or prevent then it’s wrong. There might be controversy regarding straight or gay relationships that involve a young person who may be sexually and mentally mature but who has not yet reached the legal age of consent, which varies from place to place and time to time. In the 19th century such relationships were commonplace in the US, and continue to be considered “normal” in many countries. The system in the US does not generally differentiate the situations.
Do you think this “movement” will gain any support- since the concept of childhood deviates throughout the world?
And I think it is unfair for the gay community to try to “out” people when they can’t defend themselves- which I’ve seen happen alot lately. People have a right to privacy- as long as they are not hurting anyone.

The problem with this book “Michael Jackson was my lover” is that nobody can tell if the sources are real or not. And that’s nevertheless the most important.
It seems incredible that Gutierrez have found Jordie’s diary and be allowed to publish it. How can you explain that whereas it has been said during the agreement with MJ and Evan Chandler that nobody could never talk about it?
How could you know that Michael’s assistants talking in this book haven’t been paid to confirm author’s accusations?
And when you’re talking about Diane Dimond, don’t forget that she only tried to prove that Michael was guilty in her book. Obviously a friend of Gutierrez!
You talk about credibility, fine. So where is the credibility in this book?
Who knows when and how this book has been forbidden in USA?

Here’s my guess, though it could probably never be proved. No doubt the settlement included a provision that required Jordie and his family to keep quiet, but that would not necessarily prevent them from “losing” his diary somewhere that Gutierrez could easily “discover” it with the understanding that he’d be free to publish his findings. Perhaps the Chandlers wanted the truth to come out despite their settlement. To believe Michael was innocent you have to explain why he paid the settlement. What’s the most likely explanation? You also have to believe Jordie’s father was willing to ruin his child’s life for money. As a matter of fact, I knew Evan Chandler before this case, and I personally cannot believe he would have done that.
Is the diary authentic? Has it ever been authenticated? What about the other side the story in Was Michael Jackson Framed? It’s been said that Jordan Chandler was given a truth serum like drug and only after being given that drug did he talk about molestation at the hands of MJ. Also Diamond is described as shady.

Diane Dimond is obsessed with Michael Jackson and is therefore biased and not very reliable. She states her claims based on people who have sold their ever changing stories to tabloids and books with quotes from “anonymous”. Where was she when Hollywood was defending Polanski if she cares about grown men having sex with children? In at least one instance she was pursuing a story through a Canadian source that Michael Jackson had molested this boy. This same source was found to be a molester himself and arrested. Victor is even less credible than she is. The gay community is always trying to claim some famous person as their own without any proof. If your proof is Ian’s claims, whose book is filled with unproven heresay (a lot of his sources are “anonymous”), Diane Dimond who is starting to look more than a little cracked, and Victor who hasn’t produced even one iota of credible evidence (anyone can manufacture a diary and there is enough stuff out there about Michael that if it were reported he had an extra head people would believe it). At best your are speculating at worst you were spreading unsubstantiated rumors. Where was Michael’s gay and pedophiliac porn during the raids? Where were the lovers and the molested when Tom Sneddon conducted his worldwide search? Where was the forensic evidence that neither $4 million of taxpayer’s money, fingerprint, DNA, blood, and semen analysis produced? All of these so-called experts are no different than everyone else who was pimping Michael for money. Since half this stuff has not been proven and many of the talking, authoritative “experts” have been proven to not know what they were talking about, at this point, as far as I’m concerned someone is going to have to produce a tape. Hell *I* was Michael Jackson’s lover. He is not here to defend himself. He’s dead. His crimes if he ever committed any can no longer be paid for with his flesh. Let it go. All these people you mentioned make/made their blood money off Michael, so their credibility is nil in my book. Where is the incontrovertible, undeniable, hard, untainted by money, greed, or attempt at fame proof?
Oh and where are the additional updates that you were so sure would come out after he was dead? Where are all the gay lovers with their videos, pictures, and love letters from Michael? Surely someone with an IPhone took a picture of Mike, their gay lover? What? You got nothing? Well I’ll be damned.
Paulie, Thanks for your comments, which are all reasonable and valid points. Now Evan Chandler’s dead too — I knew Dr. Chandler well enough to believe he would not have risked ruining his son’s life for money. He was an intelligent person who was well aware of the risk. In my dealings with him, which were prior to the scandal, he was always a person of integrity. I don’t think he lied, nor did his son Jordan.
Regarding your comment about the gay community claiming “some famous person as their own” I very much doubt anyone would want to claim an accused child molester as their own. It’s simply a matter of trying to determine and understand the truth.
